Here's our Story:
During the winter of 2010/2011 we became aware that the Gooding Garden Shoppe (the garden seed store that had provided bulk seed for much of Southern Idaho and Northern Utah) was going out of business. Since we had just discovered them as the place to buy our bulk garden seed the previous winter, we panicked, knowing that the alternative was those little packets of seeds in the grocery or local farm supply stores. It had been so nice to be able to buy as much or as little seed as we needed, and knowing that the varieties had passed the test of time for this area of the country. We decided we couldn't just stand by and do nothing, so we got in touch with Debbie (the owner of the Gooding Garden Shoppe) to see if anyone would be picking up the ball and going forward with it. She indicated that there had been some interest but that nothing had worked out. In short order we struck a deal and agreed to purchase her inventory of seeds and garden supplies.
We immediately began a remodel on a vintage old building in downtown Glenns Ferry, Idaho--the original Glenns Ferry Bank building, built in 1904. We temporarily opened shop next door while the remodel was going on. Seeds came to life on March 7, 2011. Glenns Ferry is located right off of Interstate 84, between Boise and Twin Falls. We are now in our remodeled building. We are anxious to meet your garden seeds and supplies needs.
We are happy to meet your walk-in needs, but also recognize that with the cost of gasoline, it is costly to drive to Glenns Ferry to buy seeds and supplies. While our website isn't set up with a shopping cart (in an effort to keep our costs and prices low), we will gladly take your telephone order, and ship it to you--by the most reasonable means available. If you do decide to drive here, we can point you to a good place to eat and interesting things to see in the area. Either way, we are here to help.
